~ welcome ~
Hello and welcome! I'm Taira, a wellness coach with a passion for helping women live a joyful, embodied life through God's design.
If you've been on a healing journey for a while, or if you're just beginning, I'm here to help! This can be a confusing time, and your nervous system may even sense this new information and positive changes as a threat... making it difficult to continue on your journey. That's where I come in!

Did you know that about 80% of your nervous system's communication is "bottom up" meaning it begins in the body, not the mind? In other words, you cannot build a resilient nervous system if you don’t know how to be “in your body.” We have become so numb to our own bodies that we try to suppress every symptom and only recognize something is wrong when our bodies begin to scream with chronic pain, migraines, digestive issues, depression, debilitating periods, panic attacks… The only time most people think about their bodies is in a sexual manner, or to “whip it into shape,” or to criticize the things society has told them aren't beautiful. I don’t believe this is how God intended you to live.

For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, because we are members of his body. - Ephesians 5:29-30

Are you nourishing and cherishing your body? Can you imagine what that would feel like? What would it be like to feel fullness in your being…even when you’re in a busy airport, even when you’re cleaning, even when you’re in conflict with loved ones?

what is somatic experiencing and embodied living?
It's not as "woo woo" as it sounds! Soma is the Greek word for “body.” Somatic exercises bring awareness to your internal sensations, as opposed to cognitive experiences. You may have heard the terms “somatic exercises,” “somatic therapy,” or “somatic experiencing,” which are often used interchangeably. The goal is the same: to regulate the stress response through bottom-up processing. I like to take this a step further for my clients: I want you to have a somatic, embodied life. Building a resilient nervous system is important, but so is living a life full of curiosity and gratitude… one where you feel the beauty in your body every day. My hope is that you come to a deep trusting of God’s design in your body, mind, and spirit.
